Water ATM to Provide Clean Drinking Water In Hyderabad


The City Mayor Bonthu Rammohan on Saturday inaugurated water ATM kiosk near NTR gardens. He said about 200 kiosks would be set up by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) before the year end.

The water ATM kiosk offers water at Re 1 for a glass, Rs 2 per litre, Rs 5 for 10 litres and Rs 10 for 20 litres, he said. The GHMC and Hyderabad Metro Water Supply & Sewerage Board in collaboration with Joseph International and Nature Spring Eco companies started the project.

Mayor said the intention behind the concept was to provide clean and mineral rich water. Rammohan said in the first phase, the GHMC was planning to promote the scheme with the help of women self-help groups (SHGs).
